Arioso clarinets feature Balanced Blowing Resistance. This means our clarinets are balanced in resistance from note to note and register to register to present a virtually seamless interface with the embouchure and air column. The player experiences this as effortless phrasing. Arioso clarinets also have PCS Stability. This is a shorthand way of saying the tone of Arioso clarinets is stable in tuning (pitch), color, and shape in dynamic changes. Characteristically, clarinets often sag in pitch, brighten in color, and spread in shape as one plays louder. As one plays softer, the clarinet normally rises in pitch, dulls in color and become restrictive in shape. Arioso clarinets give the acoustical support needed to minimize these unwanted variations with only minimal effort from the clarinetist.
